Picture-o-the-Day
My science-deprived self is going to subject you to some science talk. What am I doing in this picture, you ask? Why, I'm counting the number of snails within the quadrat, of course. This was for my Research in Tropical Marine Ecology class last year, conducted over spring break on Coconut Island, in Hawaii. My research project? The paper was titled: "Comparison of the diversity and abundance of gastropod species between a wave exposed and protected lagoon intertidal wall in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii" (Yes, I came up with that all by myself!) The results? Very interesting--greater diversity and abundance were found at the wave exposed site...
